Two days left cycling then I’m selling ma bike

I’m now in Rio Grande, the Argentinean bit of Tierra del Fuego. It was dirt track all the way from Porvenir (Chile) to San Sabastian (Argentina) roughly 100miles. First day was OK the road seemed to be quite solid although a bit bumpy. Most of the way was fairly close to the coast – nice to look at.

The second day looked like it was going to be a cracker. The sun was out and there was a good gust of wind behind me. But before long the sun had melted the surface of the road into a mud slush puppy and once again it got stuck in my mudguards. I couldn’t push the bike in some parts and all the sheep and cows heard a lot of swearing. This time I was careful not to break any part of the bike. To get to the Argentinean border control from the Chilean (a mileage of 3) took 2 hours. That’s a long time when there is only less than 8 hours of daylight. Anyway enough of that, it tarmac all the way now. I was trying to make it to Rio Grande that day but fell short of 20 miles. I decided to brave the cold and camp by the shore. This morning was a short ride into Rio Grande where I am resting my knees, back of knees and bottom before what should be a two-day ride to Ushuaia.
