All over the place

Leaving Santiago I was heading south down Ruta 5 but me being me I headed east – 40 miles in the wrong direction. I stopped off at an internet shop full of kids playing computer games and looking a porn sites turning round to make sure nobody was watching. I was going to find out where the hell I was on Google earth as asking people how to get on to Ruta 5 was proving complicated. The guy running the internet shop couldn’t fathom where he was either on my map but eventually found it on google earth. That’s when I realised what a plonker I’d been.
I cycled on until about 10pm to catch up with myself and to get as far out of Santiago as I possibly could. I was assured I was heading in the right direction when I worked out how to use the compass on my phone. It was fairly dark but the land was becoming more and more rural so I found a spot to pitch my tent – under some bamboo that had formed a den like structure. I would have camped in the middle of the road I was that tired.
