Trains are trains but planes

Well planes went well. I was a wee be apprehensive about the connections I had to make but the system worked. I was awe struck when I woke up after a wee sleep - probably snoring as my nose is blocked – and saw the mighty Andes. It was just beyond that when we touched down in the dustiest place in the world, Santiago.

Got a taxi into town. I know if I were a true adventure cyclist I would have put my bike together at the airport and cycled in. I fear I might have been mowed down on the wrong side of the road on my first day. Got to the Hostel really friendly folk although they over booked for tonight and I have to stay in another hostel for the night. It's good here too, warm and welcoming and putting up just nicely with my lack of Spanish. Oh yes it's bloody warm here

Well it looks like the time's right to get the bike out of its case... Just get a dust mask and a compass and off ya go, hope you've got a tail wind!
